Workshop: Working Large Without Fear -

Date(s): February 18-20, 2016

Workshop Details

This 3 day studio workshop will be a fun and intensive exploration of handling a large canvas. We will learn how to select compositions that "work" for large scale paintings and how to execute them without letting the size intimidate. Painters will work in their choice of acrylic, oil or watercolor.

  • Leave your "comfort zone" for three days and work larger than usual.
  • Work with compositional problems in a large scale format.
  • Be spontaneous in the beginning, creative in the middle and analytical in finishing your large works.
  • Understand how to solve problems specific to large scale paintings.
    • We will begin our journey with a "Get Acquainted" party at the home and studio on Wednesday, February 17th.
    •  Each day will start with a serving of conversation about technique over coffee, tea and pastries.
    • We'll have six hours of painting with demonstrations daily.
